Hiawatha Trail Back to Nature Run - June 11th
Full or 1/2 Marathon 50K, 25K, 15K, 10K run on this historic Rail Trail. Park in Taft, MT. Take a short shuttle ride up to the East Portal to start your run going through the signature 1.66 mile long St. Paul Pass Tunnel. Yes lights are required. Courses are all Out & Back. Put on by Negative Split Timing.

  • COST: $40 for the ride or $65 for the T-Shirt, Snack, water Upgrade. 

Be sure to bring your own or rent a bright light or two from us.

Rides usually sell out so please reserve early. 
 
Guests will all meet at the East Portal between 7:30 & 8 pm (PST). to sign release paperwork etc.

If you need a Rental Bike they will rent for their regular rate for the night ride. Extra lights are also suggested to rent an extra light or secure a rental bike tell them this information when making your reservation. These will be picked up by guests at the East Portal (aka Taft Trailhead).
Do not go to Lookout Pass as no one will likely be working there at this late hour. Come straight down I-90 to Exit 5 and then proceed up FS Route 506 a dirt road, make a left into the East Portal Trailhead and park there. Gather your gear and meet us at the registration tents. 

Ride will start at ~ 8 to 8:30 pm with staggered groups stretching out as needed. (All times are PST even though the ride starts in MT.)
Guides will take small groups of 12-18 at a time.

Rental Bikes, Lights & Helmets are all additional if needed and will be transported for your ride out to the registration point at East Portal.
Make your Reservations today to enjoy this unique experience. Guests riding e-bikes should make themselves familiar with our e-bike policies.

Ride your bicycle and give nature a breather. Come on out and ride in the great outdoors and celebrate all the benefits of riding your bicycle more. Be Green. Bring a friend and enjoy this majestic trail on World Bicycle Day. 

Before or After your Ride - know that Fathers can enjoy a FREE Scenic Chairlift Ride at Lookout Pass Ski & Rec. Area on Fri., Sat. & Sun. (June 16-17-18, 2023). Ride is up our Peak 1 Quad just off the parking area. Lift Runs 10 am to 3 pm. 

$10 Pulled Pork LUNCH SPECIAL: June 16-17-18 - Available at Lookout Pass. Fathers will enjoy this same special for just $5 when accompanied by any other family member buying the $10 special. Happy Fathers day!

Enjoy tasty HOT DOGS at the bottom of the ride in Pearson, Idaho Every Fri., Sat. & Sun. All Season Long

Come on out to Ski Lookout Pass slopeside deck or the Hiawatha at Pearson and get Hot Dogs for just 4 bucks.
Join us for Scenic Chairlift Rides at Ski Lookout Pass or Enjoy the breathtaking scenery out along the Hiawatha and purchase all the dogs you want for $4 buck/each in Pearson, ID (the bottom of the Hiawatha trail). Remember to put a CC or some cash in your pocket before leaving the Taft trailhead parking lot for your ride.
$4 Dogs available 11:00 to 4pm (or while supplies last) at Pearson (the bottom of the Hiawatha Trail).

Thursday Aug. 31 - SUPPORT THE WALLACE FOOD BANK
Bring 7 Non-Perishable Food Items to the East Portal 8:30a - 1:30p Deliver to the Wallace Food Bank Tent. 
Most desired items: Peanut butter, canned tomato products, boxes of instant oatmeal packets, Instant Potato Packets, boxes of cold cereal as well as separate containers of fresh fruit and vegetables. These along with any non-perishable food item donations or cash contributions are greatly appreciated.   

In exchange for guests dropping off [7 non-perishable food items].

Lookout Pass Ski & Recreation Area will provide those Food Bank supporters with the following: 
2 Coupons:  First coupon is valid for a Hot Dog with Soft Drink or Bottled Water that can be redeemed at the Pearson, ID Trailhead (Bottom of the trail) on Thursday Aug. 31, 2023.
In addition the second attached coupon will be valid for: 25% OFF any purchases of T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Stickers, Magnets, and other gift items purchased at the concession stand at the top of the Trail (East Portal) on that day, or can also be redeemed at the Lookout Pass Ski & Recreation Area Gift Shop on Aug. 31, 2023. Appropriate coupon needs to be presented at time of purchase to receive these items or discount.

The Hiawatha Scenic Bike Trail is Open 7 days a week thru September 17th. Early fall is a great time to be out on the trail with cooler temps and with kids back at school the trail is a little calmer.
